Learning Support Assistant - Permanent/Fixed Term
Starting Salary: LCC Spinal Salary Grade 5 Pay Point 7 moving up to Pay Point 8
Ashmount School is currently recruiting both permanent and fixed term Learning Support Assistants to join our 4 consecutive Ofsted rated "Outstanding" school. Ashmount currently provides education for 212 pupils aged 4 -19 with a wide range of learning and physical disabilities.
This role is as varied as it is rewarding so we require resourceful, enthusiastic and flexible people to join our highly skilled staff team. You'll be part of a robust, energetic and friendly classroom support team who pride themselves in providing high quality education and opportunities for our pupils.

The school hours are 9:00am to 3:45pm Monday to Friday with a 45 minute lunch break, term time only with an additional week for training and teacher days (39 weeks).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Working with a wide range of class teachers and classroom support staff to deliver excellent learning opportunities.
2. Accompanying groups on trips.
3. Supporting pupils with assessment and evidencing learning
4. Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
5. Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners
6. Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability
7. To undertake any appropriate training for the role

CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE:
14. GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
15. Experience of working with children or adults with additional needs
16. A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
17. A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
18. A can-do attitude.
19. A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.
