Job Description:
Our York based client is looking for an Operational Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader. Candidates should be self-motivated. You will play a crucial role, providing technical solutions and support on complex repairs and maintenance issues related to damp, mould and condensation (DMC) across customers’ homes.
This role is initially for a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of extension, working a minimum of 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The pay rate is £22.21 per hour.
You will be responsible for ensuring the progress of DMC and disrepair cases is appropriately managed, including accurately diagnosing issues, specifying orders, and monitoring remedial works through to completion, while considering all necessary repairs.
Key responsibilities:
* Supervise, plan, organise, deploy, and control a team for repairs and maintenance on the clients’ extensive housing stock.
* Ensure the provision of a lean and efficient service which offers value for money.
* Accurately assess, specify, and value the extent of work to be undertaken. Perform comprehensive inspections, draft relevant contract terms, conditions, and specifications – including all materials and equipment required.
* Work in full compliance with budgetary and policy constraints.
* Collaborate with internal trades staff and subcontractors.
* Continuously assess the quality of service delivery, reinforce expected behaviors, and resolve operational issues referred to the post holder.
Requirements for the successful candidate:
* Experience supervising/managing a team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Significant technical knowledge from a trade or construction background with extensive proven experience.
* Good knowledge of construction methods, technology, and materials, along with excellent time management, IT, and influencing skills, and a proactive, flexible approach.
* Experience promoting positive tenant participation initiatives.
* Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships across teams.
* Experience in quality control and service provision checks.
* Experience managing expenditure within budget constraints.
Please apply only if you meet the skills and experience outlined above.
