About the Role
We now have an opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to implement and maintain systems and procedures to protect Diamond’s assets from security threats.
Accountabilities
* Operate and configure infrastructure or tools to appropriately manage security risks.
* Work with helpdesk and user groups to manage services including software patching and access management.
* Monitor IT, network, security information and event management (SIEM) systems for anomalies, and investigate incidents when they occur.
* Contribute to incident response and disaster recovery plans, participate in periodic tests to ensure effectiveness.
* Respond to vulnerabilities disclosed by threat intelligence sources including the National Cyber Security Centre, Jisc and vendors.
* Support IT helpdesk and be the focal point in responding to security-related tickets from staff and users.
* Collaborate with relevant working groups to develop mitigation plans for identified security risks.
About You
You will have recent significant experience working in a professional computing or technical operations role with a focus on security. You will also have the following:
* Good expertise with technical security issues and processes, including anti-virus, endpoint detection and response, intrusion prevention, server hardening
* Hands-on experience as an administrator with Microsoft Defender and its associated products (Entra, Azure, Active Directory)
* Knowledge of Linux-based security tools including SELinux, iptables, Fail2ban, AppArmor
* Experience with cyber security incident response and forensics needed following a breach
* Experience with software patching tools and vulnerability remediation
* Proactive approach, team player, good interpersonal communicator at all levels
