Location: Andover (hybrid working available)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Our client, a respected and expanding ecological consultancy, is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their Andover-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ecologist looking to take the next step in their career, with real responsibility, autonomy, and progression prospects.
The Role
As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering projects from start to finish, supporting junior staff, and maintaining high technical standards across a diverse portfolio of work.
Key responsibilities include:
10. Leading and undertaking a range of habitat and protected species surveys
11. Producing and reviewing high-quality ecological reports (PEAs, PRAs, EcIAs, HRAs where relevant)
12. Providing technical advice to clients and project teams
13. Managing projects, including timelines and budgets
14. Mentoring and supporting junior ecologists
15. Assisting with mitigation design, licensing, and implementation
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
16. A degree (or equivalent) in Ecology or a related field
17. Several years’ experience in ecological consultancy
18. Strong report-writing and project management skills
19. Good working knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
20. Membership of CIEEM (or eligibility)
21. Protected species licences (or demonstrable experience working towards them)
22. A full UK driving licence
