Role purpose
Mitie Controls are a leading supplier of BMS services and solutions across the UK. The activities delivered by this team ensure optimal performance of existing BMS installations through operation & maintenance regimes, as well as delivering BMS upgrades and new installations. The focus is to maintain comfortable conditions for building users, provide efficient HVAC asset performance and reduce energy usage. Data from a site\'s BMS, metering and other sources underpins our approach as a technical leader in BMS operations in the UK.
Responsibilities
* Own the business development lifecycle with Mitie clients, securing and exceeding sales targets for new BMS and Plan Zero works.
* Influence the growth of the operation by taking responsibility for key clients to deliver Plan Zero strategies and establish a strong pipeline of BMS and Net Zero opportunities.
* Serve as a conduit between client and operation delivery teams to ensure new projects are designed accurately and to the highest standards for secure and profitable delivery.
* Build strong client relationships to sustain ongoing investment in BMS and Plan Zero pathways.
* Explore new and evolving technologies with BMS and Metering solutions to continually drive Digital Maintenance solutions.
Typical day-to-day activities
* Interact with Mitie contract leads and end clients, delivering joined-up solutions to achieve Net Zero Pathways.
* Carry out site visits to survey and evaluate the most suitable BMS solution to meet client requirements.
* Support tenders and tender interviews; prepare submissions with clear, honest articulation of the proposed solution.
* Collaborate with the dept Head of Operation to deliver growth strategies with improved margins and profitability.
* Act as a team player, providing feedback to improve quoting and tendering processes.
* Provide technical solutions, detailed proposals, and accurate costings for BMS and energy-related project works.
* Manage Salesforce for owned opportunities, updating status and providing forecasts.
* Provide technical support on new innovative solutions showcasing new technologies and integration opportunities.
Experience & Skills
* Extensive knowledge and experience of BMS, primarily Trend, Tridium, Distech and Priva.
* Experience in a Sales and Business Development role or a technical engineering background with a desire to succeed in this role.
* Commercially capable of making good business judgments.
* Motivated with strong cross-functional relationships and customer-focused problem solving.
* Willing to learn and strive for excellence; hardworking and committed to client delivery at high standards.
* Understanding of Modbus and BACnet integration, and ability to create optimized strategies from scratch.
* Excellent communication; enthusiastic with a passion for team and operational success.
