Job Description
A highly respected claimant-focused legal practice is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its established and growing team. This role offers predominantly remote working, with attendance at the Leeds office required approximately once per month, providing an excellent balance between flexibility and team connection.
The team
You will be joining a well-regarded Clinical Negligence department recognised for its expertise in handling complex and high-value claims. The team includes accredited specialists with strong reputations in claimant clinical negligence, creating a supportive and technically strong environment in which to progress your career.
Collaboration is central to the culture, and the team places real value on knowledge-sharing, mentoring and collective success.
The role
You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through to resolution. The work is varied and challenging, requiring strong judgement, proactive case management and a client-focused approach.
In addition to running files independently, you will:
* Make strategic decisions on complex cases
* Liaise with clients, medical experts and counsel
* Draft pleadings, witness statements and other key documentation
* Negotiate settlements and litigate where necessary
* Support the progression of higher-value and more complex matters
* Contribute to departmental performance and wider team objectives
There is also scope to mentor and support junior colleagues, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in responsibility while remaining hands-on.
About you
This role will suit a solicitor who is confident working autonomously but values being part of a collaborative and supportive team. You will ideally have:
* At least 5 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in clinical negligence litigation
* Experience managing a varied and complex caseload
* Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
* A commercial, efficient and client-focused mindset
* Excellent organisation, attention to detail and IT proficiency
* The ability and willingness to support junior colleagues
What’s on offer
The firm offers a genuinely supportive and people-focused working environment, alongside a comprehensive benefits package, including:
* 35-hour working week
* Discretionary performance-related bonus
* 35 days’ annual leave including bank holidays and Christmas closure
* Option to purchase up to 3 additional days’ holiday
* Additional annual leave awarded after 5, 7 and 9 years’ service
* Contributory pension scheme with salary sacrifice
* Life assurance
* Health cash plan covering dental, optical and routine medical expenses
* Enhanced maternity, paternity and IVF policies
* Company sick pay
* Flexible and agile working arrangements that genuinely support work-life balance
* Regular firm-funded social events
* Monthly staff recognition scheme
* Ongoing training and structured career development
* A supportive, inclusive and forward-thinking culture
