Network Security Manager
The Role
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the operational and tactical delivery of security across stations, depots, and trains, ensuring full compliance with the Department for Transport Light Rail Security Programme (LRSP).
You will lead outsourced security teams, manage critical supplier contracts, and work closely with key partners including the British Transport Police and Transport for London to reduce crime, improve safety, and protect our people and assets.
You will also act as Deputy Nominated Security Contact, supporting regulatory compliance and responding to evolving security threats across the network.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the delivery of KAD’s security, crime reduction, and safeguarding strategy
* Ensure full compliance with DfT Light Rail Security Programme (LRSP) requirements
* Manage and optimise security contracts, suppliers, and budgets
* Lead responses to security threats including terrorism, vandalism, trespass, and violence
* Analyse incident data to identify trends and deploy targeted interventions
* Develop and embed an intelligence-led security culture
* Chair internal security forums and lead security awareness initiatives
* Work closely with stakeholders including BTP, TfL, local authorities, and internal teams
* Lead and coordinate workplace violence reduction and safeguarding programmes
* Oversee security audits, inspections, and compliance activities
* Manage access control systems, permits, and security infrastructure
* Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota for security incidents
What You’ll Need
Essential
* Proven experience managing security operations (or policing equivalent)
* Experience managing teams and/or outsourced security contracts
* Strong knowledge of security compliance and risk management
* Experience analysing data and producing insightful reports and recommendations
* Strong stakeholder management skills across internal and external partners
* Ability to influence, prioritise, and make decisions in a complex environment
* High attention to detail and strong organisational capabilityStrong IT skills including Excel, Power BI or similar tools
* Ability to obtain DfT Counter Terrorism clearance
Desirable
* Experience within rail or transport environments
* Knowledge of JESIP, HOT principles, or WHAT framework
* Experience in investigations or PACE interviewing
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience
