About the Role:

As an
Assistant Relationship Manager
, you will play a dual role supporting frontline relationship teams and managing the end-to-end processing of loan applications. Working in a fast-paced challenger bank environment, you will help deliver a superior customer experience, streamline loan approvals, and ensure compliance with internal credit and regulatory policies.

This role is ideal for a proactive, tech-savvy banking professional who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused, and digital-first environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

* Assist Relationship Managers (RMs) in managing a portfolio of SME clients.
* Support onboarding of new customers
* Coordinate client meetings, prepare briefing materials, and ensure follow-up actions are executed.
* Support the new business team in progressing loan applications through to drawdown

Loan Processing & Credit Operations

* Manage the loan application process from initiation to disbursement, ensuring accuracy and speed.
* Liaise with credit analysts, underwriters, and legal teams to process loan files.
* Conduct preliminary assessments of creditworthiness, documentation checks, and fraud prevention controls.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, RBI guidelines, and other regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of loan status in the bank's CRM and loan origination systems (LOS).
* Flag discrepancies or high-risk profiles for escalation.
* Support internal and external audits by providing relevant data and documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

* Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
* Experience:
2–5 years of experience in banking/financial services, preferably in SME lending, loan processing, or customer relationship support.
* Knowledge of:
* Loan origination systems (LOS) and CRM platforms.
* Credit analysis fundamentals (preferred but not mandatory).
* Skills:
* Strong attention to detail and process orientation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
* Ability to multitask and manage priorities under tight timelines.
* Customer-centric mindset with a collaborative approach.

Preferred Attributes:

* Experience in a
challenger bank

fintech

digital-first
financial institution.
* Familiarity with digital onboarding tools and automation in credit processing.
* Exposure to MSME, working capital, or unsecured loan products.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

* Turnaround Time (TAT) for loan processing.
* Accuracy of documentation and compliance adherence.
* Customer satisfaction/feedback.
* Portfolio hygiene (NPA tracking, renewals, documentation gaps).
* Support in client retention and upsell targets.
