A Pupil Referral Unit in Fazakerley is seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join its committed team. This provision offers a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students who have experienced challenges in mainstream education. Staff work collaboratively to provide personalised learning and emotional support, helping every student to re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
Role and Responsibilities
The Learning Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally. Key responsibilities include:
Delivering one-to-one and small group support within the classroom.
Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons.
Identifying barriers to learning and providing tailored interventions.
Working closely with teachers and other staff to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Monitoring and recording student progress, sharing feedback with staff and parents.
Supporting students in developing social skills, confidence, and resilience.
Essential Skills & Qualities
Previous experience as an LSA or in a similar role (preferred).
A genuine passion for supporting young people and improving educational outcomes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, empathy, and resilience when managing challenging behaviour.
A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
Relevant qualifications in education or child development (desirable but not essential).
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who have faced difficulties in mainstream education. They must demonstrate patience, adaptability, and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers and achieve success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
