A leading metal manufacturing business based in Herefordshire is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to spearhead business growth across the UK. This is a high-impact role for a commercially minded leader who thrives on building strategic relationships, opening new markets, and elevating customer partnerships in technically demanding sectors.
You’ll serve as a key ambassador for the company’s advanced metal products, driving expansion across aerospace, defence, medical, oil and gas, marine, and other high-performance industries. Expect regular travel, close collaboration with internal teams, and the opportunity to shape commercial strategy for a respected manufacturer.
What you'll be doing
• Cultivating strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities across multiple sectors
• Leading strategic sales initiatives and aligning commercial efforts across multiple sites
• Demonstrating strong knowledge of the company’s portfolio of metal alloy products
• Managing commercial negotiations and providing high-level sales support
• Overseeing key accounts throughout the UK and Europe, ensuring customer satisfaction and contract compliance
• Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging growth opportunities
• Working closely with operations, technical teams, and product management to deliver outstanding customer service
• Supporting regional processes including logistics, credit control, and performance tracking
• Reporting and explaining deviations from sales plans and performance targets
Additional Responsibilities
• Negotiating and closing complex deals and long-term agreements
• Drafting and interpreting commercial, scientific, and financial contracts
• Presenting product capabilities and supply-chain solutions to customers
• Travelling extensively across the region
• Preparing professional reports and presentations using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
What we're looking for
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• Experience within the metals or manufacturing sector
• Background in a melting, processing, or manufacturing environment is highly desirable
• Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
• A self-motivated individual able to operate with independence and integrity
• Excellent prioritisation and time-management abilities
