Grade 9 to 10 – salary subject to experience.
The Role
This role is part of the Fostering Service, focusing on supervision and support of foster carers, with involvement in kinship and assessment activities.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support mainstream foster carers and new mainstream households.
* Co‑operate with kinship and assessment teams to share caseloads and ensure a fair distribution.
* Conduct initial viability assessments on a rota basis.
* Assist in the recruitment and placement of new foster carers.
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships with children's teams.
* Participate in and help deliver training and development activities.
* Engage in regular support groups with foster carers.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Fully qualified social worker (social work degree or equivalent).
* Minimum of 12 months post‑qualification statutory social care experience.
* Completed post‑qualification first year of specialist experience (ASYE).
* Experience or interest in matching and supporting new foster carers is desirable.
* Strong collaborative, relationship‑building and communication skills.
