About the role

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to advertise a clinical fellow role aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career but who want to take time out to develop a special interest. These jobs would also suit doctors who just want to take time out to develop new skills and enhance their CVs. Our posts combine protected time dedicated to your chosen special interest as well as education and career development with practical patient-facing care

Main duties

The main duties of the post will include:


Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients presenting to the ED.
Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate
Dedicated special interest day per week
Involvement in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings
Involvement in relevant administration duties
Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate
Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities

Essential person specification requirements

To meet the requirements of this role, applicants must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
Medical Degree from recognised medical school
Pre-registration/foundation training and appropriate experience in recognised training-grade posts relevant to EM at junior doctor level or above minimum 3 years including adequate experience in Emergency Medicine (i.e. minimum 6 months).
Eligibility to work in the UK
Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
Possesses good communication skills.
