Life on the team
Our Software Services team is growing and we’re looking for someone with a proven track record in software (procurement or sales), ideally with experience in managing large vendors such as Citrix, Symantec, VMWare, IBM or Oracle.
This role is vital for successful software contracts, requiring expertise in licensing, procurement, and effective negotiation with vendors. You'll focus on software cost optimisation to enhance customer savings, showcasing excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Frequent and pro-active branch visits are essential in order to build relationships with the key stakeholders and to gain an understanding of their customers and needs, also ongoing training will be key in order to keep abreast of changing technologies.
This would suit someone who wants to improve their overall skills in customer engagement, problem solving and new sales, someone who can manage a high workload and retain the levels of consistency, accuracy and professionalism whilst working under pressure. You’ll be trained and supported but would also be expected to be self-motivated and use your own initiative in order to progress and succeed in this demanding role.
What you’ll be doing
1. Customer aligned you will be responsible for:
2. Responding to pricing requests and organising quotes from software suppliers
3. Optimising and bench-marking with a view to drive savings
4. Establishing and maintaining relationships with both software vendors and distributors
5. Driving negotiations with software vendors and distributors
6. Building cost models to identify savings opportunities
7. Identify proactively savings strategy across customer spend
8. Provide end-to-end ownership on sales opportunities working closely with both sales and our distribution partners
9. Research to find all relevant information required to optimise software opportunities and deliver cost savings back to customer
10. Track savings and value that can be reported and measured
11. Communicates in a timely and effective manner via emails, reports and reminders
12. Accomplishes organisation goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value
13. Supports requests from customers, partners, sales, and other operational team members
14. Should be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while completing work within allocated time frames
15. Committed to applying best practices in everyday work
16. Collaborates with internal and external partners to meet procurement objectives
17. Manage Key Customer Procurement Relationships
18. Integrate SOS activities with wider CC virtual team and lifecycle services.
What you’ll bring
19. You’ll need a proven track record in software procurement or sales
20. Experience of having worked in the software industry – ideally managing large vendors such as Citrix, Symantec, VMWare, IBM, Oracle etc
