Job Title:\n \n Site Supervisor (Road Surfacing)\n\nLocation:\n \n North West\n\nSalary:\n \n £45k - £50k\n\nIndustry:\n \n Civil Engineering\n\nJob Overview:\n\nThe Road Surfacing Site Supervisor will oversee day-to-day site operations for road surfacing and associated works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of surfacing techniques, plants, and materials.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSite Management\n\nSupervise and coordinate surfacing crews, plant operators, and subcontractors.\n\nManage daily work schedules, resource allocation, and site logistics.\n\nEnsure work is completed to agreed technical standards, quality specifications, and deadlines.\n\nHealth, Safety & Environment (HSE)\n\nEnforce compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.\n\nConduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.\n\nReport and investigate near misses, incidents, and non-compliance issues.\n\nQuality Control\n\nMonitor surfacing quality, compaction levels, line and level tolerances.\n\nLiaise with laboratory technicians for material testing and results.\n\nAddress defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.\n\nCommunication & Coordination\n\nAct as the main point of contact between the site and project management team.\n\nCoordinate with suppliers, clients, and local authorities as needed.\n\nPrepare and submit daily site reports, progress updates, and as-built records.\n\nCost & Resource Management\n\nMonitor material usage, plant hours, and labour costs.\n\nIdentify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality\n\nRequirements:\n\nProven experience in road surfacing or civil engineering works.\n\nStrong knowledge of surfacing plant, equipment, and materials.\n\nSSSTS or SMSTS certification.\n\nCSCS card (Supervisory level preferred).\n\nExcellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to liaise with all stakeholders.\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive salary package.\n\nOvertime allowances.\n\nCompany vehicle or allowance.\n\nPension scheme.\n\nTraining and career development opportunities.\n\nIf you are interested in applying for this position and would like to learn more, send your CV in confidence to the team here at YCR, and we will be in touch shortly.\n\nJob Title:\n \n Site Supervisor (Road Surfacing)\n\nLocation:\n \n North West\n\nSalary:\n \n £45k - £50k\n\nIndustry:\n \n Civil Engineering
