How you'll make a difference
As a Test Analyst you will make a difference by being part ofafocusedand innovative agile delivery team working on exciting solutions enhancing the experience for council key workers and our customers and service users across South Gloucestershire.
Projects you work on could include providing new digital tools to support our Social Care teams, extending the services available via our public website portal, or delivering new mobile asset management solutions to our Streetcare teams.
What will you be doing?
* You will be instrumental in ensuring product releases are free from bugs so that our solutions are of the highest possible quality.
* You will support and guide business users to undertake effective User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
* You will work with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Developers to plan testing, define acceptance criteria for user stories, record automated tests and author manual test scripts.
* You will spend a high proportion of your time running formal scripted system and regression tests, conducting exploratory testing, or orchestrating automated test suites.
Things you need to know:
* A typical day will start with a full-team daily stand-up.
* Most delivery work is organised into a fortnightly sprint cycle.
* There will be a mixture of time working alone or with others on testing work.
* Usually everyone is working remotely, collaborating continuously with the latest tools, checking in with team members regularly.
What we need from you
* You will require a degree in a computer related field, or the equivalent technical knowledge in a technical discipline related to Testing processes such as an ISEB Testing certification.
* We require you to have a wealth of relevant practical experience of delivering a testing function for an IT service in a complex operating environment.
* You must be able to deal with competing workloads and prioritise accordingly, in line with project priorities, with an eye for detail.
* It is essential that you are able to communicate effectively with a range of customers and stakeholders, in order to provide an excellent customer service.
* You will have experience in the use of business software packages, quality assurance and testing tools, and good knowledge of testing and agile development processes.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
