About the role
The role of HSE Manager includes:
1. The development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental policies, processes, operational procedures, and standards.
2. Ensuring best practices and championing a continually improving HSE culture within the business.
3. Engaging and influencing key stakeholders both within and outside the business, including liaising with and reporting to external regulatory bodies.
4. Maintaining high levels of compliance to protect employees, customers, and regulatory organizations. A sound working knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety legislation is essential.
About the responsibilities
As HSE Manager, key tasks include:
1. Being an exemplar of HSE processes and driving best practices and improvements.
2. Supporting all areas of the business to eliminate, mitigate, or reduce exposures while managing change within SHE at all levels.
3. Liaising with departments to ensure HSE requirements are maintained.
4. Providing operational site and premises support, inspections, and audits.
5. Planning and maintaining internal HSE audits.
6. Completing and auditing risk assessments as required.
7. Communicating, educating, and training employees on HSE matters.
8. Developing policies and procedures to manage HSE risks and opportunities effectively.
9. Investigating, analyzing, and reporting accidents and incidents.
10. Managing follow-up processes for accidents and incidents.
11. Updating onsite documentation regularly.
12. Ensuring timely and accurate statutory and internal reporting.

About you
To be successful as HSE Manager, you must have / be:
* NEBOSH qualification in Health and Safety
* IEMA qualification in Environment (or similar)
* Lead auditor qualification (preferably ISO 14001 and 45001 standards)
* Proven experience in a similar managerial role
* Management experience in a manufacturing environment
* Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain an HSE management system
* Up-to-date knowledge of ISO certification processes
* Experience reporting and liaising with relevant stakeholders
* Evidence of driving and implementing change
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Strong organizational and planning abilities
* Attention to detail and a results-driven approach
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Leadership and relationship-building skills, including team management
