We are currently recruiting Advanced Therapy Assistants for our musculoskeletal and physiotherapy services at Guys and St Thomas’ Foundation NHS Trust, including a talent pool reserve list.
Our physiotherapy department offers a range of specialties, including outpatient and gym‑based rehabilitation. The role involves working with patients of varying acute and chronic MSK conditions, managing both inpatient and outpatient caseloads, and delivering remote and in‑person exercise classes.
Responsibilities
* Work independently within the physiotherapy team, including hospital and community settings.
* Prescribe, progress and develop exercise programs for patients undergoing rehabilitation, including hydrotherapy, inpatient rehabilitation, pelvic health, remote rehabilitation and gym exercise sessions.
* Progress or regress patient exercise plans and organise the smooth running of condition‑specific exercise classes for adults of all ages and abilities.
* Provide essential support and administration for class delivery and related tasks.
* Manage an independent 1:1 caseload of remote rehabilitation and face‑to‑face working.
* Assist in the care and treatment of patients in collaboration with physiotherapists in the outpatient setting.
* Conduct hydrotherapy, exercise prescription and multidisciplinary working.
Qualifications
* Physically fit and able to demonstrate confidence in working with patients.
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
* Willingness to work as part of a team and manage own time effectively in unsupervised periods.
* Microsoft computer skills essential for data collection and reporting.
* Previous NHS experience is not essential; experience in personal training or working with people with long‑term conditions in or outside of work is desirable.
