ROLE SUMMARY
Ourclients are energy suppliers, providing electricity and gas to businesses and homes, possibly including yourown! The energy sector can be complex, and our clients often engage ENSEK for our expertise. Our Platform andSRE Tribe, where this role sits is made up of numerous squads including Platform, Developer Experience, SREand QA. These are all cross-cutting enablement squads and work across ENSEK supporting the widerengineering effort.As a Platform Engineer (Environment Specialist) within the Platform and SRE tribe, you will immerse yourself inall thing’s environment related supported by our SRE and Platform teams. This will include but not limited toprovisioning new environments, dealing with requests to amend existing environments, decommissioningenvironments, maintaining an up-to-date inventory of environments and their current configurations, supportingrequests for environment support and reporting cost and usage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Platform Engineer (EnvironmentSpecialist) will be responsible for-
1.Understanding environment setup across ENSEK and the nuances that exists from tribe totribe and building and maintaining a comprehensive catalogue of runbooks and guides
2.Provisioning new environments within agreed runbooks taking responsibility for ensuringappropriate sign off through to capturing detailed requirements and managing scheduling oftasks through to completion of the work, delivery and post-handover care
3.Responding to requests for additions to existing environments following due process
4.Maintaining an inventory of all environments to include detailed information of ownership,configuration, components, clusters etc
5.Reviewing current processes regularly with aim to improve current runbooks, improvedeveloper experience and introduce automation where possible
6.Regularly reporting on environment spend with focus on identifying cost areas and variance
7.Troubleshooting and taking ownership of environment issues working with product tribeengineers andpeers to resolve
8.Diarising regular reviews of existing environments to measure usage, stability and generalhousekeeping
9.Drive a positive culture of engagement and always presenting a “glass half full” attitude
10.Promoting and maintaining a positive, results orientated work environment, buildingpartnerships and teamwork across ENSEK. To add value to the experience of our clients,colleagues and other relevant stakeholders through practicing and promoting the ENSEKvalues.
SOFT & TECHNICALSKILLS

4.Familiarity with ADO/GIT including running pipelines
