Overview
The General Medicine Consultant plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care within a dynamic healthcare environment. This position involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and manage patients across various medical specialties. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical medicine and be proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure seamless patient management.
Duties
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations to determine medical conditions.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals in specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and more to develop effective treatment plans.
* Manage inpatient care, including critical care experience and perioperative care for surgical patients.
* Utilize EHR systems, specifically Epic, for accurate documentation and patient management.
* Perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, and airway management as needed.
* Participate in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.
* Provide health coaching and education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
* Medical degree with relevant residency training in internal medicine or related fields.
* Proficiency in EHR systems; experience with Epic is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices across various specialties including but not limited to psychiatry, dermatology, oncology, pediatrics, and emergency medicine.
* Experience in acute care settings such as ICUs or level I trauma centers is preferred.
* Familiarity with diagnostic imaging techniques (CT, MRI) and interventional radiography procedures.
* Basic life support certification; advanced certifications are a plus (e.g., ACLS).
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care coordination.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating leadership qualities.
