Job Description
I’m currently working with a precision engineering business in Northamptonshire to recruit a CNC Milling Programmer with strong HyperMill and 5-axis experience.
This role has come up due to internal movement, and it’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to join a modern machine shop, producing complex, tight-tolerance components for industries like motorsport, aerospace, defence, and beyond.
The role
* Programming and setting CNC milling machines (up to 5-axis) using HyperMill
* Reading drawings and CAD models, then creating efficient machining strategies
* Running machines and carrying out in-process and final checks
* Troubleshooting machining issues and optimising processes
* Supporting the wider team – from helping with quotes to mentoring junior staff
What we’re looking for
* Time-served apprentice or equivalent background in CNC machining
* Solid experience programming with HyperMill
* Confident working across 3- and 5-axis CNC milling machines
* Strong knowledge of tooling, materials, and machining methods
* A team player with great attention to detail and pride in quality
