About the Role

As a Senior Estimating Engineer - you will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for multi-utility projects, supporting our pre-construction activities and contributing to the successful delivery of our services.
What you will be doing:
* Developing detailed cost estimates for projects, including electricity, gas, water, and telecommunications.
* Analysing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
* Collaborating with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements and company objectives.
* Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and assess market rates.
* Identifying and evaluating project risks and opportunities to inform pricing strategies.
* Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and client proposals.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and market trends.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating function.
What you will bring:
* Desirable Qualifications & Professional Memberships:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CICES).
Desirable Knowledge & Experience:
* Extensive experience in estimating within the utilities or construction sectors.
* Strong understanding of multi-utility infrastructure projects and associated cost drivers.
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Familiarity with industry-standard contracts and procurement processes.
Skills & Personal Qualities:
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
