An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven Central Sterile Processing Department Manager to join NHS Golden Jubilee. You will manage services in the new state‑of‑the‑art purpose‑built Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) and Endoscopy Decontamination Unit (EDU) units opened in mid‑2025, providing strong leadership, strategic direction and resource management for the CSPD and EDU units within NHS Golden Jubilee. You will also be responsible for delivery, development, planning and organisation of central decontamination services.
In addition, you will provide overarching leadership skills to ensure the maintenance of quality and performance standards, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and delivery of Board priorities. You will also be an excellent team player and will work closely with the Senior Nursing Teams, Clinical Leads, Consultants, Heads of Department and other Board Clinical and non‑clinical groups to manage the workload and ensure day‑to‑day operational cover for clinical and support services. The role will also support the shaping and implementing of service strategies. As an NHS Scotland resource, you will work alongside colleagues from across NHS Scotland.
In the last year NHS Golden Jubilee has expanded significantly, with the second phase of our hospital expansion now complete. The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing of instrumentation in the 6 Ophthalmology theatres in our Eye Centre, 20 theatres within the main theatre department, and 5 Endoscopy rooms in the Surgical Centre.
Responsibilities
* Manage services in CSPD and EDU units, providing strong leadership, strategic direction and resource management.
* Plan, develop, and organise central decontamination services.
* Maintain quality and performance standards and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with Senior Nursing Teams, Clinical Leads, Consultants and other Clinical and non‑clinical groups to manage workload and operational cover.
* Support shaping and implementing service strategies.
* Oversee processing of instrumentation across multiple theatres and endoscopy rooms.
Qualifications
* Qualified to the requirements of the IDSc best practice, including an IDSC Technical Certificate.
* Extensive knowledge of decontamination legislation, regulatory requirements and guidance.
* Demonstrable knowledge of different types of reusable medical devices across a range of specialties.
* Evidence of senior management experience in decontamination, and recent experience implementing change.
* Experience managing staff and resources.
* Enthusiastic, self‑driven leadership skills with the ability to make a positive difference to patients, services and teams.
