Overview
At Asda Opticians the health and wellbeing of our customers is paramount. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality patient care and service. You will perform eye examinations, contact lens fittings and extended service examinations while supporting the team through training, coaching and maintaining departmental standards. With NHS extended service contracts in place, you will be supported to acquire any additional accreditations required to provide these services.
Work Schedule
Work Shift: Days
Hours per week: 40
Rota: Week 1 – Mon‑Fri 9:00–17:30; Week 2 – Tue‑Sat 9:00–17:30
Responsibilities
A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations.
You will work alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager to provide training, coaching and maintain all departmental standards.
Support the delivery of NHS‑contracted eye care services and gain the accreditations necessary to provide them, with funding and support from Asda.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
* Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – funded and supported by us)
* On track to meet the statutory CPD points requirement
* Ability to use your skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
* Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department
