Overview
We are supporting a well‑established organisation in recruiting a Senior Employee Relations Specialist. This role sits within a central HR/People function and is ideal for someone with strong experience handlingplex casework and advising managers at all levels.
The successful candidate will contribute to a positive, fair and consistent approach to people management, supporting proactive employee relations activity, early conflict resolution and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide high‑quality advice and guidance onplex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, transparent andpliant oues.
2. Support managers with a range of cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence.
3. Coach and challenge stakeholders to promote early resolution and constructive working relationships.
4. Maintain and improve systems for tracking ER activity, identifying patterns and informing improvement work.
5. Support the development and review of people policies and procedures.
6. Contribute to the design and delivery of training and awareness sessions on people management, respectful behaviour and inclusive working practices.
7. Work collaboratively with trade unions and internal stakeholders as part of ER case handling and consultation.
8. Assist with preparation for legal processes where required.
9. Support project work related to wellbeing, policy, employee experience or people services.
10. Promote a culture that reflects organisational values and encourages constructive, professional working relationships.
Person Specification
11. CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in a senior HR/ER role.
12. Significant experience advising onplex and sensitive employee relations matters.
13. Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and case law.
14. Experience supporting managers through change processes.
15. Experience working with trade unions or other representative bodies.
16. Ability to coach, influence and build effective relationships.
17. Strong analytical skills and ability to assess risk.
