This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week on-site, with responsibility for covering the Midlands region
As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Royal Mail’s operational workforce. Supporting the Midlands region, you will work closely with senior leaders to drive transformational and cultural change through strategic People Plans.
About the role
You will lead and coach one HR Business Partner, while providing expert HR consultancy and partnering with stakeholders to align business and people priorities. From managing change initiatives and industrial relations to embedding talent strategies and performance frameworks, you’ll be at the heart of delivering sustainable value across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver People Plans aligned to business goals.
• Lead and coach HR Business Partners across the region.
• Influence senior stakeholders and manage key relationships.
• Support change management and engage with trade unions.
• Drive governance across cyclical HR processes (e.g. compensation, engagement, talent).
• Champion the use of HR services and act as a role model for best practice.
About You
You’re a trusted advisor with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders. Your collaborative mindset, resilience, and analytical thinking make you a natural leader in complex and fast-paced environments.
You will bring:
• Proven experience influencing senior leaders and managing change.
• Strong HR technical expertise, including employment law and IR/ER.
• A strategic mindset with commercial awareness.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Full CIPD qualified
You will thrive in ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and be passionate about driving cultural transformation across Royal Mail.
