CNC Recruitment is seeking a Quality Technician to join our client in Ilminster area -a well-respected automotive company. The ideal candidate willmanage the calibration of a wide range of engineering measurement and process control equipment as well as assisting the Quality department with day-to-day duties including internal auditing, New Product Introduction (NPI) management and customer returns administration. Job type temp to perm Location Ilminster Working hours - Monday to Wednesday07:00am to 16:30pm Thursday 07:00am to 16:10pm Salary - Up to £30,000 DOE Key Duties and Responsibilities Calibration Management Management and maintenance of established calibration database Some calibration of engineering measurement equipment, ensuring traceability to national standards at all times Minor repairs and adjustments to engineering measurement equipment as and when required Auditing of internal processes with reference to the ISO9001 standard and to ensure continued compliance with documented procedures NPI (New Product Introduction) management and tracking, to include liaison with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams, generation of Control Plans & First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) Management of customer returns administration (ensuring correct use of documentation and receipt of production in ERP system Additional duties & responsibilities: Assisting in developing methods for inspection, testing, sampling and training of testers and where necessary, to inspect product and provide cover for the Quality Inspection team Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for measuring equipment and methods to ensure best practice is maintained during manufacture Quality improvement projects Supporting production and other departments with projects, continuous improvement, investigative and development work Management and maintenance of MRB (Material Review Board) database Support with issuing of controlled documents Writing technical and quality engineering reports Making presentations, sharing information and training colleagues Actively participating in quality meetings Knowledge and Skills Essential Experience of measurement equipment calibration Excellent organisational skills Confidence in dealing with external calibration subcontractors and internal department leaders Must be able to work under own initiative, whilst also functioning well as part of a team Good knowledge and experience in the use of IT systems, specifically the Microsoft Office package Quick to learn and will work efficiently at all times Good communication skills Good time management and punctuality is essential The role requires some lifting, so must not have any physical impairment that would prevent lifting of product or equipment. Ability to calibrate measuring equipment Desirable Experience of working in an inspection environment Experience and familiarity with a range of engineering measuring tools Process auditing experience Internal auditing experience PPAP knowledge SPC knowledge
