ROLE PURPOSE
We are looking to for a highly motivated Bid Manager, who will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the company’s sales-to-delivery process, providing input and oversight to all aspects of the bid process, from initial lead qualification through to project implementation.
The Bid Manager is responsible for ensuring each of the company’s business divisions receives the necessary support to effectively progress opportunities, ensuring the company is well placed to both win and deliver client engagements.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinating and overseeing the production of proposal / presentation documents and other client-facing collateral
Responding in a timely manner to clients’ requests for information / proposals (RFI / RFPs)
Working with multiple business units and external partners to ensure all required inputs are received on time and to the desired quality
Co-ordinating and helping to shape solutions, ensuring that high quality proposals are produced in line with Huntswood’s proposal methodology and client requirements
Writing and editing bid content, to create compelling bid collateral aligned to the client’s requirements and agreed win themes
Ensuring all bid submissions are accurate, innovative and that all due governance has been adhered to at each stage of the bidding process
Ensure adequate assistance is provided such that opportunity owners are well positioned to progress client requirements and meet agreed deadlines
Ensure that all bid deliverables (proposals, presentations etc.) are of high quality, delivered on time and in line with company standards
Foster effective working relationships internal stakeholders and the client during the bid phase of the project, balancing the needs and objectives of both Huntswood and the client and resolving issues that arise
Essential skills
Bid management experience, to include:
Track record of successfully managing the end-to-end bid process
Bid writing and content creation
Knowledge / bid library management
Identifying / implementing continuous process improvement initiatives
‘Solution selling’ - preferably a BPO background, with previous experience in managing bids of varying scale and complexity
Personable – strong communication skills, can proactively engage with people at all levels
Confident – self-starter that can build relationships across a range of disciplines
Effective communication skills - successfully managing cross-functional internal stakeholders as well as liaising with external strategic partners
Well organised – can manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
Time management – working at pace and to tight deadlines, working to a defined time-table
Stakeholder management – actively manage pursuit team to source content in a timely fashion
Attention to detail – methodical and thorough, sustaining consistently high standards in a highly visible role
Team player – flexible and adaptable, comfortable working in a small team with a broad range of responsibilities
