Deputy General Manager Country Inn & Hotel - Hampshire Up to £40,000 base 20% bonus (c. £8k) house tronc (£8-10k) About the venue This is a beautifully run country inn and estate, open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alongside the inn operations, the property features an events space with a dedicated party barn and delivers around 70 private shoot parties per year—from elevenses in the field to evening dinner celebrations on site. The role We're seeking a hands-on, standards-driven Deputy General Manager to support the General Manager in leading day-to-day operations, delivering memorable guest experiences, and driving commercial performance across the inn, restaurant, rooms, and events. Key responsibilities Lead from the front on service across breakfast, lunch and dinner, ensuring warm, genuine hospitality. Oversee the events operation and party barn; plan and deliver shoot parties to a high standard. Coach, rota and develop the FOH team; foster a positive, high-performing culture. Manage daily operational controls including stock, GP, tronc integrity, labour planning and compliance. Work closely with kitchen and estate teams to deliver seamless, seasonal experiences. Uphold brand standards, health and safety, licensing and all statutory requirements. Act as Duty Manager, providing strong leadership and visibility across all areas of the business. About you Proven experience as a Deputy GM, Restaurant Manager or multi-outlet FOH lead in quality inns, hotels or premium dining venues. Background in events or country/estate hospitality is highly beneficial. Calm under pressure, commercially aware, and people-focused. Strong financial understanding and attention to detail. Flexible to work 5 days over 7 on a rota, including evenings and weekends.
