Job: Pool Plant Operator and Maintenance Assistant Based in: Cowley, Cheltenham Reports to: Maintenance Manager DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate daily maintenance activities. Monitor and operate swimming pool and spa plant equipment. Conduct regular water quality testing and adjust chemical levels to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of water test results, plant readings, and maintenance logs. Perform backwashing of filters and routine cleaning of plant equipment. Assist with general maintenance and repair tasks across the hotel, including plumbing, painting and electrics. Respond promptly to maintenance issues or defects flagged guests and team alike. Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise downtime. Replace or repair defective fixtures, fittings, and tiles as needed in wet areas. Adhere to and promote health and safety procedures at all times. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure the safe handling of pool chemicals. Support risk assessments and contribute to a safe working environment for staff and guests. Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance schedules or temporary closures. Provide technical assistance during inspections and audits. Maintain a clean and organised plant room, workshop and maintenance stores. Undertake training and development as required to remain compliant and competent.
