YOUR ROLE

We are looking for tech passionate individuals to want to start their career as an apprentice in the IT industry. You will be joining large business area working for our largest UK public sector client working with inspiring experts from which you can learn from and enjoy the career opportunities this brings. You will be joining a large community of Graduates and Apprentices across the business.
You will be working towards a full-time job and studying towards a degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University on our flagship BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions. It’s a 3-year course in which you will have an initial 12-week bootcamp on campus at Sheffield Hallam University. You will then study part time using a blended approach to learning, encompassing both on campus days and online learning, whilst doing your full-time role. You will learn many industry standard technologies and cover modules such as programming fundamentals, systems analysis and design, database administration and software engineering concepts. The degree includes a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.
As an Apprentice Software Engineer you will be an integral part of one of our Scrum teams. You'll work with a diverse group of senior and junior engineers who share your passion for Agile practices, high-quality software, and innovative problem-solving. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Collaborating with team members to design, develop, and deliver software solutions that meet our client's needs.
2. Embracing Agile methodologies to enhance productivity, communication, and project success.
3. Learning from experienced senior engineers and mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of knowledge sharing.
4. Dedicated time to pursue technical certifications and professional growth opportunities to advance your career.
5. Exploring a wealth of exciting projects that will challenge your skills and broaden your horizons.
YOUR PROFILE
To be eligible, you need:
6. 7 GCSEs including Maths and English grade 4-9
7. Strong knowledge of at least one programming language such Java, Python, JavaScript, C++ etc.
8. Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
9. Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Plus one of the following:
10. 3 A*-C at A-level, minimum of 96 UCAS points (CCC at A Level) UCAS points (NOTE: AS Levels are not included)
11. Completed Advanced Apprenticeship
12. BTEC (Minimum of MMM)

NOTE
