As an experienced, proactive Senior Network Design/Capacity Planning Engineer you will perform capacity planning for our global backbone and edge devices, ensuring all resources meet current and future customer needs in alignment with engineering guidelines. In this role you will generate detailed reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement actions for maintaining optimal network capacity. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, driving process simplification and operational efficiency. You will work closely with both internal and external partners, contributing to problem-solving for common issues and continuously improving processes and procedures. What you'll do: Plan and capacity manage the AT&T Global Core Network to ensure optimal performance and scalability for customers. Introduce technology upgrades, working with AT&T labs partners and delivery organizations on implementation plans. Review and upgrade network topology and connectivity. Working with Subsea and Carrier teams Expand and optimize current network points of presence (PoPs). Analyze business requirements and capacity trends to proactively address network demands. Collaborate with internal and external teams to align strategies and support organizational objectives. Work in a global, multicultural team and take stewardship of capital and expense budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Cover working time: EMEA with flexibility What you'll need: Hands on experience with network design/capacity planning management within large service provider networks Solid understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 networks, including experience with routers and switches (Cisco IOS, JunOS). Ability to broadly understand network routing protocols and translate engineering guidelines into effective POP designs. Proficiency with MS Office applications, coding, and hands-on experience in automation tools and processes. Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate technical concepts and recommendations. Positive attitude and a proactive, can-do approach to problem-solving and teamwork. What you'll bring: Around 5 years' experience, subject matter technical knowledge within the discipline within large, Telco/Enterprise/Service Provider environment. CCIE certification or equivalent experience Excellent data analysis skills Education: Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; or equivalent experience. This position is hybrid, and you may be expected to go in the Portsmouth (U.K.) office 2-3 days per week.
