Casual Supervised Contact Worker
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Casual Supervised Contact Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is instrumental in ensuring safe, high-quality interactions between children and their families, supporting positive relationships while prioritizing child welfare. The position involves supervising and facilitating family contact sessions in Contact Centres, Children and Family Centres, local community settings, and occasionally family homes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and observe contact sessions between children and family members or friends.
* Ensure safety by identifying and intervening in harmful or abusive interactions, taking immediate action when necessary.
* Record and report observations to support social workers and other professionals in assessing and improving family dynamics.
* Prepare and maintain the contact area before and after each session.
* Build professional relationships with children, families, and professionals to ensure a supportive and positive experience.
* Gather feedback from children, young people, and families to enhance service delivery and inform improvements.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience working with children or adolescents in settings such as education, social work, or community services.
* Strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and safeguarding principles.
* Enhanced DBS check
Desirable Qualifications:
* A professional qualification in social work, childcare, or a related field is highly advantageous.
* Valid UK driving license, and business insurance (preferred) to meet travel requirements.

* Excellent communication skills with a wide range of individuals.
* Ability to anticipate, manage, and de-escalate conflict effectively.
* Strong observational and assessment skills to evaluate family interactions and intervene when needed.
* Experience working in partnership with agencies and organisations to support child welfare.
* Non-judgmental approach with the ability to maintain professional boundaries while fostering inclusivity and celebrating diversity.
* Capability to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative while adhering to policies and procedures.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and ability to complete high-quality reports and database records.
Additional Job Details:
* Hours: Flexible
* Location: Travel is required within Eastbourne area. A valid driver's license and business insurance are preferable, as the role may involve transporting children.
* Compensation: £15 per hour, plus an additional £10 per report written.
* Training & Development: Continuous in-house training provided, with the opportunity to work with a leading nationwide social work services provider.
