Role responsibilities
This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of TfW's technology landscape. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a robust enterprise architecture that underpins our digital transformation journey and lead on activities to ensure that Transport for Wales’ (TfW) software development and testing is understood and mapped appropriately into TfW’s IT and Digital Services strategy.
1. Responsible for defining and implementing enterprise architectural, and web development encompassing, strategic design, application landscape, and web engineering strategies and accompanying governance processes to ensure TfW’s technology is fit for purpose.
2. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify common technology elements and create capability patterns and standards within the organisation to ensure TfW makes the most appropriate decisions in relation to technology deliverables.
3. Assess and review existing solutions against TfW’s defined principles and design patterns to ensure that TfW’s existing solutions are fit for purpose and have the capabilities we need to fulfil our strategic goals.
4. Attend technology networking events hosted by external software providers and systems ntegrators to ensure that TfW understands future trends, external innovation, and opportunities for the digital solutions landscape and use this knowledge to deliver a world class multi-modal transport solution.
Who we’re looking for
5. Extensive customer-centric leadership, management, and communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
6. Significant commercial experience in designing high performing and scalable data and digital architecture designs and patterns.
7. Demonstrable experience with data and digital transformation projects; involving modernising legacy systems and delivering complex, nuanced integrations.
8. In depth understanding of security principles and policies and ensuring these are applied to the design of solutions.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
