Offer description

Our award-winning purpose-built Dyson Centre for Neonatal care is a 21 cot Level 2 unit with a Transitional Care Pathway. We are fully UNICEF Baby Friendly accredited and also hold Bliss Silver Accreditation. Virtual Tour: www.swneonatalnetwork.co.uk/bath

Our families are supported by a team of ANNPs and AHPs who include a feeding advisor, psychologist, OT, physio, dietician, speech and language therapist, discharge coordinator and outreach team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Practice Education Facilitator to join the education team to plan, deliver and evaluate education service provision. You will have a passion for supporting learners, nurses and the wider neonatal team and be adept in collaborating across teams and departments and the South West Neonatal Network Education Service to coordinate education provision. This post will run alongside a Band 6 nurse post to ensure currency in practice. You will have excellent leadership, management and communication skills and take charge of the unit supervising staff and students. In the absence of the Lead Nurse you will bear 24 hour managerial responsibility and accountability for care delivery. You will also demonstrate professional, specialist expertise and knowledge supporting the team to deliver high quality, evidence based safe care.

The purpose of the PEF in the Neonatal Unit is to be responsible for supporting, developing, and enhancing the clinical education and professional development of nurses, nursing associates, nursery nurses, & allied health professionals within the neonatal setting. The role ensures that staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to deliver high-quality, family-centred neonatal care in line with NHS and local standards and policies.

The job requires the post holder to work clinical shifts to maintain currency.

The Band 6 nurse is accountable and responsible for the care delivery and management of the ward/area of work in the absence of the Band 7 nurses, including the supervision of staff and students.
