Royal London have an exciting opportunity for a People professional to join our People Services Team as a People Leader Advisor. Contributing to the overall People Leader Advisory Service, the People Leader Advisor is the key contact for people leaders seeking advice and guidance on all aspects of people-related matters and the colleague life cycle. This includes policy advice, performance, development, talent and capability, learning, management of cases relating to sickness, disciplinary, grievances, etc., cyclical events such as pay review and STIP bonus, as well as resolving day-to-day people-related queries and helping to facilitate the development of people leaders to increase their people management skills.
About the role
* First point of contact for people leader advice and support on cases from an Employment Law perspective, Performance and Reward queries (pay, benefits, benchmarking, recognition, annual pay and performance cycles), and Talent and Capability queries (Career Management, Talent and Succession, Learning and Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Well-Being and Engagement).
* Liaise with the People Partner and/or Centre of Excellence where appropriate.
* Proactively keep up to date with related People/HR and business issues and initiatives.
* Work in partnership with people leaders on performance management, absence management, resourcing, people leadership, and employee development.
* Build effective working relationships with people at all levels.
* Provide support and challenge on people issues, in line with policy and statutory requirements.
* Share insight and feedback to support proposition development.
* Analyse regular and ad hoc people data reports, making recommendations for action.
* Support the delivery of ad-hoc projects as required.
About you
* CIPD qualification (or working towards) or other relevant qualification is beneficial.
* Experience in a HR generalist role and up to date employment law expertise.
* Previous experience in a regulated environment.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
* Good communication skills; able to relay complex data simply and concisely.
* Ability to provide excellent people-related advice to leaders.
* Commercial experience and understanding of how HR can impact business performance.
* Relevant customer service skills developed within an internal customer-facing HR role.
* Excellent coaching, planning, and organisational skills.
* High degree of influencing and persuasive skills.
* Commercial drive to resolve business issues with pace.
