Overview
West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit a Lead Early Learning & Childcare Officer to support the delivery of high-quality early learning and childcare across the authority. Contribute to the provision of a safe, caring, and stimulating nursery environment for all children. Contribute to and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance. Plan, record, implement, and evaluate suitable programmes of activities. Monitor and record children\'s developmental progress through effective assessment practices. Promote and support parental participation and engagement.
Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate nursery programmes in line with Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre-Birth to Three guidance.
* Monitor and record children\'s developmental progress using effective assessment practices.
* Support and engage parental participation and involvement in children\'s learning.
* Provide supervisory experience working with pre-five children in an appropriate setting; contribute to curriculum planning and delivery.
* Ensure a flexible, adaptable approach to change and continuous improvement in service provision.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Essential: BA in Childhood Practice (or equivalent) and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or eligible to register within 6 months of appointment.
* Sound knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre-Birth to Three guidance; clear understanding of child development.
* Registered PVG scheme (or willing to obtain) as this post is a Regulated Role with Children under the PVG Act 2020; may require PVG scheme membership or update prior to formal offer.
* Experience and ability to lead curriculum planning and delivery; commitment to developing parental involvement.
