Job Summary
Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is looking to welcome a qualified and experienced clinical pharmacist into our busy practice. The role is offered on a part‑time basis for 14 hours per week and involves active participation in our multi‑disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in a primary care setting.
* Provide primary support to general practice staff with prescription and medication queries.
* Deliver expertise in clinical medicines advice, addressing both public and social care needs of patients.
* Provide clinical leadership on medicines optimisation and quality improvement, and manage aspects of the quality and outcomes framework and enhanced services.
* Ensure integration with community and hospital pharmacy to optimise skill mix, improve patient outcomes, enhance access to healthcare, and manage workloads.

Person Specification
Experience (Essential)
* Awareness of common acute and long‑term conditions in a general medical practice
* Demonstrated general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas
* Ability to plan, manage, monitor, advise and review general care plans for patients with long‑term conditions
* Accountability for delivering professional expertise and direct service provision
* Problem‑solving ability, recognising priorities and referring to seniors or GPs with confidence
* Adherence to legal, ethical, professional, and organisational policies, procedures and codes of conduct
* Assistance to patients in making decisions about prescribed medicines and supporting adherence as per NICE guidance
* Non‑judgemental attitude, flexibility and adaptability
* Self‑motivated with excellent communication skills
* Understanding of patient confidentiality
Qualifications (Essential)
* Completion of a degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Post‑qualification experience in pharmacy (hospital, primary care or community) or working towards this
* Qualified independent prescriber, or working towards this
* Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
