Position Details
* Job Title: Occupational Therapist
* Location: Riseley Green School – Berkshire RG7 1QF, with cross‑site work to support a new OFG school opening September 2026. Details to be confirmed.
* Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE (DOE). Basic grade OT offers from £33,000+, specialist from £39,500+, highly specialist from £48,000+.
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Mon‑Fri.
* Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full‑time contract possible based on circumstances).
The Role
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Riseley Green School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver and support the embedding of Occupational Therapy intervention for pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work to our pyramid model of delivery, focusing on embedding clinical practice at a whole‑school level and guided by the standards provided in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working. This will clarify your roles and responsibilities while taking into account the requirements of governing and professional bodies.
You will support the delivery and implementation of stipulated Occupational Therapy provision on students’ Educational, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) with the support of your designated clinical supervisor and Lead Clinician. You will also contribute to staff training and provide consultation as required.
The post is suitable for a resilient, creative, flexible, and enthusiastic individual. All settings maintain a strong safeguarding culture; pupils are heard, respected, and involved in decisions affecting them.
Location: Role will initially support Riseley Green School – Berkshire (part of the Options Autism brand, serving children & young people aged 4–16). The successful candidate will also support the setup of new Options Autism OFG schools planned for September 2026, with some cross‑site working required.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* Valid and up‑to‑date HCPC registration
* Registered member of RCOT
* Relevant experience providing occupational therapy services in a similar setting (preferred)
* Experience working with neurodivergent and/or learning‑difficulty and/or socio‑emotional/mental‑health populations, with evidence of transferable skills
* Sound knowledge and clinical understanding of OT theory and its practical application to support independence
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality (preferred)
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently
* Clear and concise report‑writing skills
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferred, but not essential)
