Role Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join our growing Cloud Engineering and Platforms practice. This is a hands on role focused on designing, building, and automating secure, scalable cloud platforms—primarily on Microsoft Azure—while contributing to the development of internal frameworks, reusable components, and delivery standards. You’ll work closely with Technical Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Consultants to deliver high quality, commercially aligned solutions, playing a key role across the full lifecycle from pre sales and discovery through to delivery and operational handover. This role suits an engineer with strong platform engineering and DevOps expertise, who enjoys defining “what good looks like” through modern automation, IaC, CI/CD, and secure by design practices. Due to the nature of this role successful candidates may need to undergo security clearance. To be eligible for this role you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years. Responsibilities Platform Engineering, DevOps & Cloud Native Design and build secure, scalable cloud platforms using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM), reusable modules, and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and cloud native automation to enable consistent, high quality delivery. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across platform services, DevOps tooling, and deployment pipelines. Security & DevSecOps Embed secure by design principles across identity, networking, secrets, encryption, zero trust architectures, and policy as code. Implement automated security controls and pipeline scanning aligned to organisational and regulatory standards. Collaboration, Delivery & Documentation Collaborate with architects and consultants to translate customer requirements into robust, well engineered solutions. Produce clear, high quality technical documentation and support delivery from discovery through to operational handover. About you S trong hands on engineering capability with a passion for automation, cloud platforms and DevOps excellence Confident engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure. Proficient with Infrastructure - as - Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and modern DevOps tooling. Experience d in configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Familiar with Agile ALM tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira. Understanding of S ecure by D esign principles across cloud infrastructure, identity, and networking. Ab le to articulate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to colleagues and clients. Knowledge and experience of the following would be advantageous : Relevant Azure certification (AZ 400 or AZ 305) and exposure to AWS or GCP environments. Client facing consultancy experience, with contributions to internal platform frameworks, reusable services, or automation testing (e.g. Selenium). Development experience in .NET and/or Python.
