Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (experienced)

Our Team in Norman Power are united in bringing quality care to the people and communities within Birmingham, our unit is situated just off ladywood road, Birmingham and we care for patients requiring re-ablement following period of time in Acute Care. We are looking for dedicated experienced Healthcare Assistants, who have completed their care certificate and HCSW competencies to work as part of the Multi-disciplinary team supporting these patients towards rehabilitation and return to home or care home facilities.
The post holders will have good communication skills, a professional approach and be committed to working as part of the team, with high standards and a passion for caring to ensure patients receive the excellent and compassionate care which is supportive, and inclusive taking into account individual needs.
They will provide some education, supervision and guidance to our patients, families and carers.

Main duties of the job
*Participate in the delivery of personal patient centred care, always maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude with patients, their families and carers.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* *Successful completion of Trust based numeracy & literacy test or provide evidence to confirm achievement of Maths/English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
* *Completion of a competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification at Level 3 i.e. For level 3 this could include AS/ A levels, Access to higher Education Diploma in health care support, Apprenticeships, NVQ Level 3, BTEC national Diploma award or nationals.
* *Care Certificate or can demonstrate prior skills, knowledge and experience that meet the 15 minimum standards described by Health Education England (HEE) Skills for Health.
* *Internationally educated applicants will have to evidence UK ENIC (the UK National Information Centre) Statements of compatibility
Experience
* *Previous experience working in a patient facing clinical support worker role providing direct patient care in health or social care as part of a team.
* *Understanding of the principles of safeguarding in relation to this role
* *Ability to demonstrate/ articulate an understanding of the role and tasks*
* involved and can describe the physical and emotional aspects of the role and some duties which are different to that of a Band 2 Clinical Support worker.
* *Can link the Trust values (Kind, Connected & Bold) to the role and provide examples from personal experience which demonstrate understanding in relation to the role
* *Can explain why training / education and approaches to care need to be consistent in relation to safety and patient experience.
* *Can demonstrate ability / experience in supporting patients holistically.

* *Flexible approach to shift patterns and place of work this may include working in different practice settings in different locations dependent upon service need.
