Volunteer Opportunity: Community Manager for WOMEN IN TECH (UK) About Us: Women In Tech are a world-leading organisation on a mission to empower 5 MILLION WOMEN & GIRLS by 2030. We are a Global Movement with chapters in 6 continents welcoming over 200,000 members. Our goal for the UK chapter is to inspire young women to consider careers in the tech industry and to support working women with their career goals and aspirations. Our brilliant community of 3,000 women is an important support network for women in the tech industry. Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate Community Manager to join our volunteer team. This is an unpaid position, but it offers the opportunity to meet and work with a fantastic community of like-minded women in tech, gain valuable experience, and participate in exciting events across London. As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for managing our WhatsApp groups, ensuring consistent engagement, and collecting feedback to help improve our community. You will collaborate closely with our Social Media Manager to develop strategies for community growth and engagement. Key Responsibilities: Manage and monitor our WhatsApp groups, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all members. Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to develop engagement strategies that resonate with our community. Create and execute community engagement initiatives, including virtual and in-person events. Collect and analyse feedback from the community to identify areas for improvement and suggest innovative ideas for community growth. Conduct thorough research to gain a deep understanding of our community's demographics, including age, experience in tech, and other relevant factors. Serve as the point of contact for community members, responding to questions and concerns in a timely manner. Work with other team members to promote events, campaigns, and community-building activities. Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere. Experience with WhatsApp or similar communication platforms. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Passionate about supporting women in tech and creating a thriving community.
