Overview
Associate / Associate Director Town Planner (Planning Consultancy) – Cambridge, United Kingdom. The Planning Consultancy team in Cambridge specialises in providing commercial planning advice to private sector clients, supporting development proposals throughout the planning process. Projects range from complex city centre regeneration and tall buildings to major infrastructure, housing promotion and heritage-led schemes. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
The role involves managing and leading major developments, negotiating with planning authorities and stakeholders, and project managing multi-disciplinary teams. Some experience as an expert witness and a track record of client management and business development are desirable. You will work with Directors to grow the business network and raise the profile of the team.
Responsibilities
* Providing strategic socio-economic and planning advice.
* Managing the research and preparation of HIA, EIAs, and Socio-Economic Assessments to support major planning applications.
* Working with multidisciplinary teams on planning projects.
* Leading client meetings.
* Project management and budgetary control on projects.
* Supporting more junior staff.
* Collaborating with WSP colleagues to deliver multidisciplinary advice, liaising with clients and statutory bodies.
* Managing key client relationships.
* Leading tenders and framework bids.
* Active business development and profile raising.
