SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Specialist

We’re looking for a calm, confident, and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The role
You’ll be a steady presence in the classroom, helping pupils regulate emotions, build trust, and access learning. Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you’ll be part of a team that celebrates every small step of progress.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
* Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches
* Helping create a safe, structured space where pupils can learn and grow
* Working with therapists, teachers, and parents to keep support consistent
What we’re looking for
* Experience working with SEMH needs (school, PRU, or youth work background welcome)
* A calm, resilient approach and great communication skills
* Someone who can build relationships and bring patience, positivity, and consistency

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
