We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Immunology to join Professor Tao Dong's group. Within this role, you will explore how integrins regulate antigen-specific T cell functions through multi-omics approaches and immune synapse analysis, and their role in disease. You will be responsible for investigating the effects of aging on influenza-specific CD8+ T cells, and their role in protection against secondary infection and effectiveness of vaccination in aged population. You will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students.
It is essential that you hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in immunology or related field, alongside with demonstrable experience & specialist knowledge relevant to the role, such as experience in T cell immunology and tissue culture, including blood sample processing and maintenance of primary antigen-specific T cells. You will have the ability to manage your own academic research and associated activities, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work and willingness to collaborate and provide scientific and workplace guidance to colleagues, research assistants and students. Excellent record keeping, careful methodological work skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
