Your Role
EF Bournemouth has an exciting opportunity for a responsible and energetic individual to support the Residence Team during the summer season. Your mission: ensure international students have a memorable and safe living environment throughout the summer. This role is a 4-12 week position running throughout June, July and August 2024, on a fixed term contract and with permanent opportunities available afterwards.
Responsibilities
1. Meeting and greeting new students on arrival and informing them of rules
2. Assisting with checking in & taking students to rooms
3. Maintain safe and comfortable environment by taking appropriate action in the event of student misconduct, addressing concerns with relevant school staff
4. Undertake provided basic first aid training and be ready to give appropriate assistance where required or contact medical/emergency services where necessary
5. Ensure standards of rooms and quality of services are maintained by conducting weekly building and room checks using provided tool/form
6. Carry out nightly curfew checks for under 18s on rotation
7. Assisting students with problems and queries
8. Manage and report welfare issues relating to students in residence
9. Take responsibility for fire safety and familiarise self with evacuation procedures
10. Ensuring that residence rules are being adhered to and report all issues to residence manager
11. Participate in emergency phone duty as per rota
12. Promote and run activities for residence students
13. Reminding departing students of leaving date & procedures

14. Given the on call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to nature & hours of work undertaken isessential
15. Highly motivated, energetic, positive
16. Customer service orientated, friendly & approachable manner
17. Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations
18. Sensitive to needs of international students living away from home
19. Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients
20. Attention to detail, organised & thorough
21. Clear DBS check and two references
