We are recruiting experienced and driven project manager to lead one of the most significant digital transformation programmes.
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust are working together to implement Ambient Voice Technology (AVT), specifically Heidi Health, across both organisations. This technology uses AI to automatically generate clinical documentation during patient consultations, reducing the administrative burden on clinicians, improving letter turnaround times, and freeing up more time for direct patient care.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a high‑profile, group‑wide digital programme from inception to full roll‑out, working at the forefront of AI‑enabled healthcare. You will have real ownership, visible impact, and the chance to build lasting change across two NHS Trusts.
As AVT Implementation Manager, you will have end‑to‑end accountability for planning, coordination and delivery of the Heidi Health deployment across your Trust, working in close partnership with your counterpart at the other organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Leading the development and maintenance of a comprehensive programme plan, including milestones, dependencies, critical path and resource requirements.
* Managing all aspects of phased deployment across priority clinical settings, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
* Leading the change management approach – engaging clinical champions, overcoming resistance and embedding new ways of working across departments.
* Developing and delivering a structured stakeholder communication plan across both Trusts.
* Coordinating with digital and informatics colleagues to ensure technical readiness, including DPIA completion, IG sign‑off, Caldicott and SIRO approvals.
* Managing the supplier relationship with Heidi Health, ensuring contractual obligations are met and issues resolved promptly.
* Overseeing staff onboarding and training at each deployment site, monitoring adoption rates.
* Establishing and maintaining a benefits realisation framework, tracking productivity savings and quality improvements against the approved business case.
* Preparing high‑quality programme reports, exception reports and presentations for the AVT Implementation Group and Steering Group.
* Supporting post‑implementation review and lessons learned to inform future digital programmes across the Group.
About you
* Substantial experience leading complex, multi‑stakeholder digital or technology implementation programmes, preferably in an NHS or public sector environment.
* Experience managing large‑scale programmes involving clinical teams, IT infrastructure and organisational change.
* A strong track record of delivering benefits realisation, including establishing frameworks to track and report productivity savings.
* The ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary teams without direct line management authority.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting to senior clinical and operational leaders and programme boards.
* Sound knowledge of NHS information governance, GDPR, DPIA processes and data security requirements.
* A master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. project management, health informatics, digital transformation) – essential.
* Political awareness and the ability to navigate complex organisational environments across multiple organisations.
Nice to have
* Experience implementing ambient voice technology, clinical documentation systems or AI‑enabled digital tools in a clinical environment.
* Experience of cross‑organisational or group‑level programme delivery.
What we offer
* A high‑profile, senior role with real ownership and organisational visibility.
* The opportunity to lead cutting‑edge AI technology implementation at scale across two NHS Trusts.
* Flexible and agile working arrangements.
* Staff health and wellbeing support.
