The Role
Essex County Council is seeking passionate and dedicated Main Grade Educational Psychologists to join our quadrant-led teams. We are committed to applying psychology to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people. We welcome applications from all qualified individuals, including Trainee Educational Psychologists in their second or third year of training.
In joining our dynamic team of Educational Psychologists at Essex County Council, you will be based in one of our four quadrants:
* North: Colchester and surrounding areas
* Mid: Chelmsford and surrounding areas
* West: Harlow and surrounding areas
* South: Basildon and surrounding areas

Essex Educational Psychology
Our Educational Psychologists (EPs) are a friendly, dynamic, progressive, research-informed, and solution-oriented team, committed to applying psychology to improve lives and create positive change. They are reflective and committed to continuous professional and practice development. As an Essex EP, you will benefit from our supportive, collegiate environment and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners and colleagues to deliver innovative approaches tailored to diverse school communities across the county. The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to join a large, progressive team of practitioner psychologists. You will receive comprehensive induction, ongoing clinical supervision, and access to an excellent CPD program, including joint days, personal CPD days (pro-rata), and a Projects and Research conference. Essex maintains strong links with doctoral training programs, and many EPs serve as academic and professional tutors. As a main grade EP, you will develop your practice with support from senior colleagues and have opportunities to work on projects like VIG and ELSA, support schools following critical incidents, and develop special interests in collaboration with SEND leads.
Candidate Requirements
* Doctorate or Masters in Professional Educational Psychology
* HCPC registration or eligibility by the end of training
* Eligible for Graduate membership with the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
* Good understanding of relevant legislation and evidence-based practices
* Passionate about making a difference for children and young people in Essex
