THE OPPORTUNITY You're a Principal Structural Engineer who wants to lead, not just deliver. You're comfortable taking ownership of projects, influencing decisions early, and building relationships with clients-but you also want to be part of a team that is growing, respected, and genuinely collaborative. At Stantec, you'll join our Structural Engineering team in Glasgow or Edinburgh, leading complex building projects across the UK. You'll work within a multidisciplinary environment alongside Civil, MEP, Environmental, Energy and Water specialists, giving you the platform to shape projects at a broader level and contribute to more integrated, forward-thinking solutions. ABOUT THE ROLE You will lead the delivery of structural engineering design across a range of building projects, from early concept through to construction. This includes setting the technical direction, ensuring quality across outputs, and coordinating with wider project teams to deliver cohesive, buildable solutions. You'll act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, representing the team throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring that requirements are clearly understood and met. Internally, you'll provide technical leadership and oversight, supporting engineers and technicians while maintaining high standards across design and delivery. Alongside technical leadership, you'll take responsibility for project and team management-allocating resources, overseeing programme and commercial performance, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently. You'll also play an active role in business development, contributing to bids, managing client relationships, and identifying opportunities for growth. YOUR IMPACT You'll shape projects that have a lasting impact across sectors including education, healthcare, residential, commercial and energy. Your role will influence not only the technical outcomes of projects, but how they are delivered-driving quality, innovation, and consistency across the team. Beyond project delivery, you'll contribute to the growth and direction of the business. From developing people to strengthening client relationships and supporting work-winning, your impact will extend across both project outcomes and long-term team capability. ABOUT YOU Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent) Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or progressing toward chartership) with IStructE or ICE Strong track record delivering building structures across multiple sectors Experience contributing to business development, bids, and client relationship management Interested in playing a broader role in team and business growth WHY JOIN US We put people first: We're proud of our friendly, inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and driven to succeed.
