Commercial Coordinator - £40,000 - £50,000 - Bristol
Purpose of the Role
As a Commercial Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the successful commercial delivery of mechanical and engineering projects.
You’ll help ensure effective cost control, contract compliance, and strong commercial performance across multiple projects, while contributing to a collaborative and commercially focused working environment.
This is a hands-on position combining both site-based and office-based responsibilities, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career within a fast-paced and expanding engineering business.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support on commercial and contractual matters across allocated projects.
* Assist with cost monitoring, budget control, and financial reporting to help keep projects commercially aligned.
* Support the administration of subcontractor packages, including valuations, payments, and variations.
* Assist in preparing interim applications, final accounts, and supporting commercial documentation.
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to provide on-site commercial support.
* Help prepare forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow updates.
* Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and procedures.
* Collaborate with commercial and project teams to improve efficiency and commercial outcomes.
* Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities where appropriate.
* Assist with the ongoing improvement of commercial systems and processes.
Experience & Qualifications Required
* Previous experience within a commercial support, quantity surveying, or project commercial role within construction, M&E, or building services.
* Understanding of standard contract forms such as JCT and NEC.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
* Comfortable splitting time between office environments and live project sites.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Degree qualified, or currently working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (desirable).
