An established and reputable main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead the delivery of highways schemes across Kent. This is a key role within a growing regional team, focused on infrastructure improvement works including road widening, junction upgrades, drainage, and associated civils packages.
The Role:
As Site Agent, you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of highways projects from pre-start through to handover. You will lead on-site teams, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with programme, quality, and HSEQ standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take full site ownership of highways schemes, managing direct labour and subcontractors
* Ensure works are delivered to programme, budget and specification
* Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site progress meetings
* Manage materials, plant, and logistics efficiently
* Monitor and report on HSEQ compliance, liaising with safety advisors as required
* Coordinate with planners, commercial teams, and design engineers
* Maintain accurate site records, RAMS, and progress reporting
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Site Agent on highways/infrastructure projects
* Background working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractors (essential)
* Strong understanding of highways specifications (e.g. SHW) and temporary works
* SMSTS, CSCS (Gold/Black), and First Aid certifications
* Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar)
